Pimp my yarn winder (knit picks)

This is a modification set for a KnitPicks Yarn winder it includes a larger spool attachment, a larger handle and a larger clamp. The actual winder is good but had a few things we thought could be better.

Larger spool

While winding my wife found that the yarn would slip over the original spool causing issues while winding, this is a simple replacement that enongates the spool. The photo shows 100grams of sport weight yarn.

 

To attach: Twist and unlock the original spool then twist and lock the new one in place.

 

Larger Handle

The original handle was small and hard to grip while winding so this is a larger handle available in both fuzzy skin and smooth.

 

To attach: Unscrew the orighinal handle and use the same screw to attach the improved version.

 

Larger Clamp

My coffee table has a large chamfer on the underside which meant the original clamp had nothing to grip onto, The larger clamp makes it able to clamp onto more things.

 

To attach: remove the wing nut holding the original clamp on then replace the clamp piece and thread on the wing nut again.

The print profile provided includes:

 

Elongated spool

Larger Clamp

Larger handle (smooth)

Larger handle (fuzzy)

Print all (smooth handle)

Print all (fuzzy handle)
