Description
This is my adaptation of a wall decoration I've seen on a few sites. Each of the 48 tiles line up to form a map of the world.
Using the spacer tool included, you can apply this to any sufficiently large surface.
I used double-sided foam tape to secure these to the wall.
When printed at full size, the final product ends up being about 4 feet tall by 6 feet wide.
For a better depth effect, scale each model in the Z-direction.
The filename for each model should follow the scheme below. Print the “Empty Frame” 11 times to complete the grid.
It also seems that I maxed out the number of build plates that can be contained in a single project, so an additional profile was added for the last 3 tiles.
Quite the undertaking, and a pretty big printer time commitment, but the end product is very visually appealing.
Now let's just all forget that this project could be done in a tenth of the time with a laser cutter!
