Description

Gift box from Tiktok. There are many models of this but all of them require screws and less popular magnet sizes. I edited this model in CAD to support pins made from filament and 6mmx2mm neodymium magnets, which seemed to be the most popular on Amazon. Also included a remix of a part to fully seal the box up without magnets and another model that is just a stand.

Included print profiles for an A1 mini.

Print a total of 6 sides, 3 with or without magnets and 3 curved sides.

Next measure, cut, and make “filament pins”, these will be glued in place.

Put a magnet side and a curved side together lining up the small and large holes, like the first image below.

The small holes are on the sides and barely fit 1.75mm filament, glue should be lightly applied here.

Push pin all the way through both parts into the glue then move the curved side to make sure it moves freely.

Continue until all sides are attached, like the images below, all the holes for the magnets should come together.

The 6th and final pin can only be glued in place when the box is completely closed. After that check that everything

moves freely and if anything is too loose the head of the pin can be melted a little bit and pushed in more, don't melt it too

much or it will stick to the part.

Finally fill the 6 holes with magnets, test that the magnets are oriented the right direction and a drop of glue will hold them.

The two types of stands are optional for a gift box with magnets but would be needed for a box without magnets to keep it closed.

Enjoy and feel free to keep remixing this cool gift box design.
