Description

It's the first Christmas while I have a 3D printer and now that the holidays are near I wanted to design something related to our favourite time of the year(at least mine favourite). There are plenty of beautiful Christmas models and decorations, but for me, one object stands out on the holy night and that is: the Christmas Star. Therefore, I decided to design a Christmas star tree topper. I wanted it to bring comfort and warmth, to be classic looking and at the same time to stand out on the tree top.
I hope you like it and Happy holidays to all!

About the model:
The star is designed to be printed from solid or translucent materials with a light source like an LED strip or LED wire. I recommend PLA Basic jade white or similar non light blocking material for the star core part. The diamond holes on the side will project patterned light onto nearby walls and ceilings(120 LED strip is used in the photos). Keep in mind that the star is about 150 grams and if the tree top is not strong enough some reinforcement must be provided.

Assembly:
To assemble the star, install the LED strip on the core as shown in the photos. Be sure to guide the cable through the cable duct and via the star holder. After that, snap the two shells onto the core and insert the holder. Depending on the material used, you may apply small amount glue for the assembly of the shells if needed.

P.S. If you like my work please boost, like, rate or comment. This will help me to continue materializing my ideas in this new world for me. Happy printing! You can check my other models HERE.
