Description
Updated version v.2 - Beefier back plate with square peg
The AMS sometimes pushes a bit sideways when changing filament. This design makes it much more stable. It has a really snug fit so you have to give it a little smack with a hammer of your choice. For people with the old version - the same screw works with v.2 so if want to save some time and filament you don’t have to reprint that part.
(Compatible with: The Ultimate Modular AMS Lite Mounting System)
Problem: My AMS lite wall mount (this one) has gradually started to bend (total usage: 4 months). The design doesn't have enough weight distribution and I feared that it would eventually break.
Solution: An adjustable pillar to distribute more of the weight energy into the wall.
Background: I really hope I don't step on the original creators design and/or engineering toes with this whole build since his/hers profile just has a tiiiiny bit more downloads than I do haha. I am in no way at all educated in this field but wanted to solve a problem I had and figured maybe someone else would benefit too.
To be honest I think, at least to ease my mind, I will someday just build a new mount from metal or wood.
I thought about just trying another printed mount but then I would have to drill new holes in the wall, so for now this is the best I could come up with.
Assembly
First.
Second, put in place.
Optional but a nice addition: Add a furniture pad.
Print Profiles
Couldn't make a really snug fit that worked on both PETG and PLA (any tips welcomed) so there are two versions and the old version that I don't recommend. All printed with 4 walls for extra strength.
v.2
Thanks & goodbye!
