Fortnite inspired lamp for kids (easy guide incl.)

Launch Pad Lamp

I designed this lamp for my nephew, inspired by his love for the video game Fortnite.

The design is based on the launch pads in the video game, with my flair added to it.

All parts can be snapped together without the use of glue.

 

Difficulty: Easy

Assembly time: <15 min

Model parts:

• 1 x main frame
• 1 x Bottom lid
• 1 x Dimmer (launch pad)
• 1 x Ribbed ring
• 4 x Side panels
• 4 x Joints
• 4 x Feet

Parts needed:

• Puck Light (LED lamp kit 001)
• 4 x ~35mm (1.4") pieces of filament

Assembly Guide:

Before printing make sure your bed is cleaned with dish soap and dry.

Check the tolerances before printing everything and adjust accordingly.

This can be done in bambu studio under Quality → Precision → X-Y compensation

Let's get started.

 

Side Panels:

Click the 4 side panels into the slots with the printed side facing towards the main body.

 

Dimmer & Ripped circle

Clamp the launch pad dimmer into the main body with the 4 locks in place.

Give it an even press until the dimmer is fully inserted into the main body.
Then add the ripped circle on the dimmer using the 4 round lock slots.

 

Joints

Use the above pictures to help with aligning the joints correctly.

 

Feet

The feet is the most tricky part of the build and be careful not adding unnecessary pressure to the model doing this process.

On picture 2 above, it is shown how to align and insert the feet into the joint.
Use an even press on the feet to get them to the top of the slit and then turn them towards the main body until they snap in place without too much pressure added.

 

Filament

For this step, use “fresh” filament with some flexibility.

If it snaps when bending it, don't use it.

Insert the filament into the foot and then main body.

If you have issues getting the filament inserted, use a sharp object to solve it.

 

Lid & Light

Make sure you lock the lid as shown above.

And that's it. Done.

 

Alternative dimmer infill

If you want to experiment with another infill pattern in the dimmer you can use the picture underneath to navigate to the settings.
