Description
(actually it's 1/16 to 13/16ths of and inch but 3/4 just sounds better)
The model ALSO has a handy metric/imperial/standard conversion chart to make it easier for you.
The model has pegs from ¼ to ¾ of an inch. It also has a loose piece that is 1/16th of an inch.
This isn't by accident. The loose pieces allows you to check gaps as small as 1/16 but also allow you to move that piece around and use it with any other peg.
For example, if you slide the 1/16 piece behind the 1/8th peg then it's 3/16ths. You can do this with every peg which means you can actually measure in increments of 1/16th all the way up to 13/16ths.
Hopefully that made sense!
Attach the piece to the model using some string.
Note, you can reduce layer heights for greater precision if you'd like (my profiles just use 0.2mm). Even the multicolor version has only one color per layer so it shouldn't really increase any waste, just time.
In the auto glass industry, placing windows into a vehicle can require some precision but doesn't usually to the mm. So I quickly made this tool so that two people on either side of a large window could quickly check if the spacing on both sides was approximately the same. We never really use gaps as large as ¾ but I made the model support it anyways.
If you found this model useful I'd love a review (if you didn't then I'd love a suggestion). If you like practical prints, then click that follow button too.
Happy printing!
