Description
Version 2 (2025-01-05) : Since a lot of people seem to have problem with part that are "glued" togheter, i redesign the interior and the handle to have more tolerance, this new design is way more easier to print.
The profile have been tested and worked with different PLA filament and different brand on P1S and A1 Mini.
Works great in PETG too, only change the filament to PETG, don't change anything else. Tested on Bambulab PETG-HF. It even turn smoother than PLA.
*** One piece / Print in place ***
A nice case for your soft tape measure with a hidden handle.
The handle goes inside to allow better storage. Can be stack, easily throwable in the drawer or easy to put in your pocket.
*** Measuring Tape ***
This design have been made for a 10 feet (3m) x 20mm wide tape. The slot where the metal part can slide in is 1.4mm thick. If the end of your tape is thicker than 1.4mm, it will not work. Don't waste your time printing it.
*** Important ***
Must be print with support, use the profile, the support are already painted and the bridge are rotated to be shorter.
Print in PLA, PETG can be a little bit too sticky and the bridge will stick on the middle part.
*** After the print ***
After printing, the 3 pieces can be “stick” together. Just hit it a little, it should be ok. I have put a slot in the handle to insert a small flat screwdriver to help “unstick” it if you can't release it easily.
You can put a little bit of "WD-40 Specialist Dry Lube (PTFE Spray)" in the crack and it will turn so smoothly, you'll never know it's 3d printed.
