Description

Two of my FAVORITE rockets growing up (Astron Sprint and Cineroc) were designed by Mike Dorffler. So as a tribute to his inspirational work I merged them together (more or less). The Astrocam Sprint nosecone can be printed in colors that resemble the Cineroc.

The fin can is designed with “through the wall” fin printing. When printed in color each fin has a full ‘bond’ with the inner support but it's probably just as strong when printed in a single color. I print at 2mm layer height and 100% infill.

Vanta Thread

Suspended Nose Cone. You can either have it recover on its own chute or attach a eye screw into the base for attaching the airframe to the nose cone.

The first stage fin can may look identical to the sustainer fin can but it doesn't have the block at the forward end. This allows for the BT-20 to pass through and meet up with the upper stage (sustainer) motor.

The RED spacer is designed to offset the upper stage motor so it fits into the first stage BT-20 tubing.

Funny how these projects go sometimes. After getting the other nosecone to work I found out that the original Sprint used a BNC-50X and I had modeled off the BNC-50Y. So for ‘authenticity sake’ I've added a BNC-50X version of both the stock and Astrocam nosecones.

Included is the Rocksim / Open Rocket file (just remove the .TXT from the file name) and yes, if you're crazy enough you can triple stage this beast to over 3000'! (so says the sim)
