Hey RC fanatics!
Alright, so you're deep into the world of Kyosho Mini-Z 1/28 RC racing, tinkering, and likely tearing your hair out on occasion. Sooner or later, you’ll stumble upon Kyosho's MA-030EVO chassis, a seemingly impressive all-wheel-drive setup that promises to amp up your game. It even comes equipped with the DWS system—yeah, Dynamic Wheel Suspension, because apparently, regular suspension just isn’t cutting-edge enough.
I, being a perfectly normal person, eagerly put this thing together, installed the DWS, and marveled at its supposed brilliance. Time to slap on a body shell, right? And what's better than the iconic Subaru WRX STi to complete this setup? Ordered it, got it, and then—bam! Reality check: if you've got DWS, you can forget about adjusting the chassis length. Seriously, Kyosho? What's the deal?
Stuck with either an LL size or a hard goodbye to my dreams. But surrender isn't in our vocabulary, is it? The traditional advice? Grab a file and some pliers and go medieval on your Subaru's body. Very DIY, might even work if you're into that sort of thing. But come on, it’s 2024—we're supposed to be smarter than this. We have 3D printers!
So I went ahead and designed a custom rear end for the MA-030EVO chassis that not only fits all the electronics but also lifts them above the DWS. And voilà, the Subaru body now fits like a glove! Shocking, right? Who knew all it took was a little ingenuity and less faith in stock designs?
Here's to solving problems Kyosho didn't even know they created. Keep tinkering, and happy racing!
