Nativity Scene: Wise Men, Shepherds, and Animals

The Nativity Scene expands upon the Nativity Family Scene that can be found in my profile by introducing seven additional figurines: the Wise Men (Caspar, Melchior, and Balthazar), two shepherds, a donkey, and an ox. These beautifully detailed figures complement the original set, helping to bring the nativity story fully to life. Whether displayed as part of a larger nativity scene or individually, these figurines add a sense of tradition and elegance to your holiday decorations.

 

Dimensions:

• Caspar: 8.5 cm (3.35 inches) tall, 3.7 cm (1.46 inches) wide

• Melchior: 8.4 cm (3.31 inches) tall, 3 cm (1.18 inches) wide

• Balthazar: 8.3 cm (3.27 inches) tall, 3.3 cm (1.30 inches) wide

• Shepherd 1 (kneeling): 5.4 cm (2.13 inches) tall, 3.5 cm (1.38 inches) wide

• Shepherd 2 (standing): 7.8 cm (3.07 inches) tall, 3.2 cm (1.26 inches) wide

• Donkey: 4.8 cm (1.89 inches) tall, 8.6 cm (3.39 inches) long, 4.5 cm (1.77 inches) wide

• Ox: 5.6 cm (2.20 inches) tall, 12.5 cm (4.92 inches) long, 8 cm (3.15 inches) wide

 

Printing Details:

The figurines are easy to print and require minimal post-processing:

• Shepherd 1 (kneeling): A tree support between the arms must be removed with a side cutter or similar tool.

• Other figures: Supports are typically found on arms or chins. A gentle wiggle side to side will loosen these supports for easy removal.

• If you are concerned about filament strength, consider increasing the infill for added stability.

 

Assembly Details:

Unlike the Nativity Family Scene, these figurines require no assembly once printed. They are ready to display after basic support removal and touch-ups. Painting the figures can render a nice touch.
