Description
A print-in-place quick-release clamp for 25 mm dumbbell threaded rods, designed to enable quick weight changes without the need for extensive screwing. After removing the support structure, the clamp is activated by compressing the clip with force until it breaks free.
Version 2: Increased wall thickness, reduced fan speed, and slower print speed for the levers to improve their strength, durability and reduce the likelihood of creep failure.
This print profile is more sensitive to over-extrusion because the pins in the joints are solid, so the excess material will bind up the joints!
Why fiber-reinforced filaments?
Standard filaments tend to deform plastically over time when subjected to constant loads. PLA in particular can weaken to the point of breaking, even without exceeding its yield strength. Fiber reinforcement significantly slows down this process, making these filaments more suitable for this model, as they help ensure the clamp maintains a consistently tight fit over time.
