Description
My A1 mini is sitting on one of those old, unpractical pieces of furniture that consist of three drawers. The top one is very shallow and can be used for pens and pencils, the one below is the only real drawer (but that one Gridfinity filled up fairly quickly), and the bottom one is only useful if you use it to hang folders in.
I think(!) mine is pretty standard in the EU, and I think(!) that standard is called A4 (like the paper size, which makes sense). Anyway, if the distance between the two rails on which the folders are supposed to slide is approximately 330 mm, yours has the same size, and you can use these sliders.
I cut a piece of hardboard of approximately 3.5 mm to 356 mm wide (8 units + 2x 10 mm for the sliders on the sides) and 272 mm deep (6 units + 2x 10 mm for the stoppers at the back and the handle at the front), and with these sliders I added a new 48 unit Gridfinity tray to my little cabinet. It takes up approximately half of the drawer depth, so I can still access the bottom.
Since I really liked the result so much and there was another pair of support rails available (although not as long), I cut another piece of hardboard with the same width and made a second tray, but this one is only 188 mm deep (4 units + 2x 10 mm).
If you decide to print this, you will need:
Instead of the stoppers, you could print the handle twice, which makes it easier to lift the tray out of the drawer.
If anyone ever reads this and would like the sliders and handle to wrap around (e.g.) 6 mm multiplex, please let me know.
