Butterfly Clutch Pin - 1x4inch - SimpleTag Nametag

A 1" x 3" nametag that can be used with butterfly clutch pins to be attached to a shirt or anything else.

1. Print Nametag
2. Add pin to nametag
3. Customize insert text in Bambu Studio
4. Print Insert
5. Clip insert into nametag
6. Done.

Details and Information

SimpleTag is a collection of nametags, inserts, and accessories for alternate use cases .

This model is for the 1x4 inch butterfly clip variant and inserts that go with it.

 

The model contains 2 parts:

1. Nametag frame/base
2. Nametag inserts

Nametag Frame/Base

• 2mm border width
• 2.6mm border thickness (gives some depth for using hueforge inserts with more detail)
• slight angle to help keep the displayed text/image from pointing down when attached to a shirt
• tapered inset to account for variances in insert size
• holes to allow removing inserts to change them
• notch and hole for butterfly pin and nub that most butterfly pins have
  • the pin hole and nub hole are made very small which requires you to force the pin through them
  • this is done to help the pin hold in place securely without needing any glue

Nametag Inserts

• 1mm base thickness
• 97.4mm x 21.4mm dimensions
• 0.6mm text/image thickness on top
  • can be done thicker to match frame
• friction/taper fit securely in place
• depending on filament used you may want to snip corners slightly for an easier fit

Customization

The text can all be easily edited in Bambu Studio.

You can also just import SVG's into Bambu Studio onto the Blank insert template

There have been some templates provided in the print profiles.

 

* Notes *

• Bambu Studio changes dimensions from the center of the object
• If you increase text thickness double check the Z-Height of the text is at 1.3mm (World Coordinates)
• If changed text has a different number of characters you may need to recenter the text

There are also an assortment of work position tags premade in the profiles.

• Blank 1mm insert
• Name ONLY (1mm insert with 0.6mm text on top)
• Name and Position (1mm insert with 0.6mm text on top)

 

Required Parts

1. Butterfly Cluth Pins with Back
   1. The cutout fits 4.5mm diameter pinheads. I have purchased those labelled as 4mm but even they were 4.4mm diameter.
   2. If you get pinheads that are smaller the friction of the pin should keep in place but a touch of glue will do the trick if not.
   3. If you have pinheads larger than 4.5mm they will still work just wont fit in the notch and also may require some glue.
