Description
While building a shelf recently, we faced the challenge of cutting precise and clean slits into wooden panels. That's when we had an idea: why not use 3D printing to create a custom router template?
We designed and printed a template that could be securely fixed to the wooden panel. Using a router bit with a ball bearing, we easily followed the shape of the template. And we got perfectly clean and precise slits! The process was straightforward to design, quick to print, and produced consistent results. This method made it a breeze to replicate multiple slits across different panels with exact precision.
We also created a second template for the shelf's feet, allowing us to add a slight rounded edge for better stability. The results were just as impressive.
If you’ve got a router and a 3D printer, this technique is a game-changer for woodworking projects!
