Lunarium / Moon Phase Calendar

This shows the current phase of the moon and rotates in a 29.5 day period. Runs off the hour hand of the standard clock components kit. Should stay accurate for a few years before getting out of sync.

 

Test model printed with regular PLA and Bambu wood PLA. Shroud was attached permanently using super glue.

 

To build, swivel gear train on top of mechanism to allow post to go through the hole, put post into the sphere, and add the shroud. Spin the entire mechanism in the lower base section to set the current phase.

 

Printing the sphere in a different orientation would help the overall look, but the way its set now there is minimal waste.
