Description
here's a link of my new design AMS Saver
https://makerworld.com/en/models/1092464
please check it out before you download this one
both of them work well for myself
but I do improve my design skill from time to time
---
thank you for the strongest support for all the boost and feedback keep this project going
our goal is a struggle free AMS system , so everyone can have a good sleep without worrying filament getting stuck
----
my filament got stuck all the time, it happened to me like once every few hours , thats the reason i came up with Gen1 design
It helps, but my filament still get caught once a while , then I collect all the feedback come up with GEN2, it works for me,
just some little things I didn't think is a big deal by the time when i design it, then here comes GEN3
this version took me a lot longer then expected
after my Gen2 , I had a lot less filament stuck issue , but there are few things still bother me
here's my improvement for it
indicator lights are visible now, it work with or without transparent filaments
connecting chains become close loop, larger chain add more durability
heavy duty support , reduce the chance of moving chain
feeder nut is tight fit now, better protect for the plastic under it
the guide head can be swap , the original idea was upload this version with 10 types of guide head
i did save some messed spools / near empty spools / larger hole spools for test
however, i didn't got stuck by any of those spools, not even once
so…..there's nothing can be improve till I get some “bad” feedback from you
I'm sure there's room can be improve
if you run into any issues , kindly leave me a message , I'll try my best to figure something out
-----
this AMS saver use 134mm PTFE tube, there's a cutting guide in print profile
also there's two different guide head in print profile might fit your spools
Boost Mehelp me keep improving this project, thank you :)
push the feeder nut in, it should hold the plastic tight
update Dec 27 : scale feeder nut to 100.4% for PETG printing, I also tested with PLA as well
update Dec 27: Add tested silm support for people needs to change desiccant box frequently
( special thanks to noxonix for this one)
update Dec 27:
due to different shrinkage of different filament you are using , it might not fit your AMS perfectly
please do a fitting test before you print 4 sets
enlarge it to 100.4% if its a bit loose
enlarge to 100.8% if it can move around
I got both tested with 5 different types filament , it becomes very tight on my AMS, but might work better on yours
update Jan 04: upload new guide head oneside PTFE tube for tight full spools
upload two PTFE guide head print profile
Update Feb 20: upload a 0.2mm hole compensation print profile for larger PTFE tubes ( use this one if your PTFE tube couldn't fit )
