THE PTFE SOCK

PTFE PROTECTOR! 

 

If your PTFE tube is wearing down from rubbing the glass this sleeve is for you.

 

I noticed my PTFE tube was starting to wear down into a nice long flat spot along the top of the tubing as it was rubbing the top glass. The picture shows all of the pieces of rubbed off tubing collected along the underside of the glass.

 

It was also causing debris to rain down onto the rails and even the bed. I decided to make a simple little sleeve to keep the tube from rubbing the glass and it's easier to just replace the sleeve when it wears out versus replacing the entire length of PTFE tubing from the toolhead back to the coupling.

 

An added bonus it keep the tube down which helps the angle of the tubing going into the top of the toolhead.
