Description

This model is now outdated, please see V3 Grenade system

This is another alternative fuse head to use with my Airsoft Grenade System v2 this version has a pull pin and spoon type safety system. It uses predominantly the same parts as a v2 or v1 twist fuse, but with the addition of a cotter pin  and ring, as well as a small spring to eject the fuse.

Components

  • Sear, Striker, main screw and spring from the Airsoft Grenade v2 or v1
  • M3.2 x 30mm cotter pin, or roughly similar
  • 1 inch split keyring
  • 5.5 x 17.5mm spring (optional) or roughly similar

Assembly

As per all the other designs, first assemble the striker pin assembly with the main screw, seer, spring and striker. Push the small spring into the round hole in the top of the fuse, if you press it in with pointy nose pliers or a small screwdriver the bottom half of the spring should lodge and stay in the hole. With the striker pin cocked and the seer resting on it's shelf you can hook the spoon over the edge on the fuse, pushing it down into the cutout, then securing it in place by sliding the cotter pin through the securing holes. If the pin will not stay in place try opening the pin slightly so you need to squeeze it together to slide it into place.

Usage

To use, grip the grenade such that the spoon is held against the grenade body with your hand, pull the cotter pin out by it's ring, then throw the grenade at a hard surface. The spoon sshould fly off under the pressure of its small ejection spring, allowing the fuse to trip upon impact.

I personally do not use this system as there are loose components to chase after once used, so I provide this variant for others amusement and enjoyment.
