Description
IMPORTANT: Did you print the previously uploaded version of Enzo Form Blocks? See the note at the end.
If you are not yet familiar with the system, we recommend you first download a ready-made set. All sets are combinable and infinitely expandable, so any one makes for a great starting point.
Creative Play: Builder Set
Enzo Form Blocks are not only functional but also visually appealing and fun to assemble. They are a design object, organisational tool, and creative play toy all at once. And since their bases are compatible with the Gridfinity system, you have at your fingertips already a huge set of components to use them with.
Furthermore, there's series of files and supporting documentation with a less restrictive license for adaptation and modification, so the true limit of Enzo Form Blocks is your imagination. You can find more info on that here.
This model includes a Starter Kit for Enzo Form Blocks designed to give you a hands-on introduction to the system. The starter kit features a 4x4 grid with a curated selection of 16 different blocks, allowing you to explore how the pieces fit together and experiment. It’s the perfect way to get a feel for Enzo Form Blocks before diving into the larger set of Form Blocks and customising your collection to suit your needs. If you really only just want to get your feet wet, print the Teaser of just four Form Blocks instead.
The Enzo Form Blocks System will continue to grow. Please comment if you're missing a specific piece or have an idea and follow to not miss an update!
If you wish to print more Enzo Form Blocks, you can find the Block Library of original 1x1 Enzo Form Blocks here:
These Form Blocks are 6 Gridfinity units tall (i.e perfect cubes). There are also shortened variants (no longer perfect cubes) of these that are 4 Gridfinity units tall and 5 Gridfinity units tall.
Enzo Form Blocks are designed to fit seamlessly into any Gridfinity baseplate you already own. If you're looking to print something specifically for your Form Blocks, we highly recommend the CLICKbase — a refined evolution of Clickfinity. CLICKbases feature smooth edges on all sides and can be expanded to any size, providing a clean and adaptable foundation for your Form Blocks. Once placed, Enzo Form Blocks snap securely onto the CLICKbase, offering a stable yet easily adjustable setup where the Form Blocks themselves don't need to be picked up.
For a semi-permanent solution, you can use adhesive dots (like these) or tape, which provide a discreet yet strong attachment, allowing the blocks to be lifted together as a single unit while still preserving their modularity. If a permanent configuration is desired, gluing the blocks together is also an option. However, it’s essential to glue them while arranged on a baseplate to ensure proper alignment and compatibility after the glue dries.
The files are set up so that the base of the form blocks has 3% Gyroid infill. This reduces plastic consumption while still remaining sturdy enough for most use cases. You can increase or decrease this in the slicer to suit your needs.
The default top layer surface pattern in the channels and rounded cutouts is "Concentric," which harmonises with their geometry. There is a modifier in the files to make the top surface pattern "Hilbert Curve". This blends most the lines between individual form blocks while providing a contrast to smoother texture of the channels and cutouts. You can change this in the slicer if you wish. If you can't or don't want to use "Hilbert Curve," "Concentric" is a good alternative since it is non-directional. Ironing the top surface would also look nice though take more time.
See this page for info and files to do so.
