Description
The AMS Lite Enclosure is a brilliant design. I love it. One issue I've been having is routing filament through the gromet. I've tried both types. They simply didn't work for me. The smaller ones didn't line up well to the AMS feeding mechanism. The bigger ones kept coming loose, and I found it challenging to find the PTFE tubes easily. So, here's an alternative that's working well for me.
This is a single piece, not requiring a second piece to snap into. Instead, it's threaded. That makes it easy to install, and without having to remove the enclosure. Just pull out the existing two-part grommet. Screw the new piece into the enclosure hole from the inside. That's it. The screw threads seem to grab the enclosure hole effectively.
Printed with basic PLA. 0.4mm nozzle. No supports.
BTW, I highly recommend that whenever loading filament into the AMS Lite, cut the end at an angle (roughly 45 degrees). That seems to allow the filament to enter the AMS feeding mechanism more easily.
I may have posted this incorrectly. My intention was for it to show up connected to this model:
