Recently, I needed to do parallel markings to an edge, but I did not find quite the perfect tool for me. This is why I created my own version from scratch in OpenSCAD. (If you are interested in a parametric V2, let me know in the comments!)
(The design is inspired by this model, but everything was re-designed from scratch)
Features
- Mark parallel to edges
- Available in metric and imperial units
- Available in different lengths: 25cm, 15cm, 5cm, 10in, 6in, 2in
- Holes for every millimeter (1/16 inch)
- Printable without AMS by pausing and switching filament at the right height (before layer 3 and before layer 9)
Recommended print settings (or just use the provided print profiles)
- Layer Height: 0.2mm (also for first layer)
- Only one wall loop on first layer
- Infill direction: 45° (or 0° if the gauge is placed diagonally on the build plate)
- Build plate: Smooth plate (for other plates, the numbers will not be that clean)
- Using adhesives is strongly advised
