Modular IKEA Kallax acrylic display window

An easy way to make the displayed items in the Ikea Kallax dust free. 

 

Each cube of the Kallax does not necessarily have the same dimensions, since it might having a couple of milimeters of marging between each other. Therefor I introduce this modular system where spacers can provide you the tools you need to make it a tight fit. The spacers are attached with a tight fit pin. I've also added a little hook at some of the base plates so it sits flush with corners. If you find the pin a bit loose, you can use a drip of glue to hold it all in place for a more permanent solution.

 

The 3MF profile comes with a start of what you need, but of course you can duplicate the objects when you need more or less. 

 

 

The dimension of the acrylic plate were 330mm x 330mm. So that leaves you with a 2-4mm gap you need to fill with the spacers.

02/18/2025: Made a thinner version for both the normal and larger pin. This should help if the standard or wider pin doesn't fit.
