Cisco Meraki MX68 / MX75 Easy Wall Mount Kit

Being an IT guy I install a lot of networking equipment and it's easy enough to make a template for the wall mounting screw holes in most devices, but I tend to find that they often end up skewed and cockeyed on the wall because the template I made wasn't perfect. Also I don't like the device paint and wall mounting screw holes on the device being unavoidably damaged or scraped up by the screw head while trying to line them up.

I created this easy mounting kit for the Cisco Meraki MX68 / MX75 series routers so I could easily mount these units on the wall with a serviceable release mechanism that I can get perfectly level every time with the reusable leveling block that is also used to hold the plate in place while screwing it to the wall. I also included a power supply brick mount so the complete installation can be done neatly at the end of the day.

The plate is 286mm x 148mm, so you'll need a 300x300 capable printer like my Creality K1 Max in order to print this part. All of the other parts should print in an average sized machine. The rest of the parts will print in my Bambu Labs X1 Carbon easily.

All of the included parts EXCEPT the locking arms can be printed at fast settings with 15% infill. Personally I use a gyroid pattern for infill on pretty much everything.

The locking arms on the other hand should be printed as solid pieces at 100% infill. They are thin parts so they will print quickly, but you will want the strength in the little cross piece at the end of the arm to keep your multi-thousand dollar router held in securely when locked in. You might be able to get away with less infill, but I wouldn't risk it, personally. I generally use PLA since it's pretty much the every day material and it's cheap. You can use ABS if you want additional strength.

For the reusable leveling block I used some 6mm x 15mm spirit bubble level ampules. They press into the leveling block with a nice secure interference fit. Here is a link to the parts:

Using this mount is ridiculously easy. Simply insert the locking arms into the slotted side of the plate and use the leveling block to hold the notched side of the plate with the locking arms against the wall while using the spirit levels in the leveling block to get the plate nice and straight. Screw the plate down in all 4 corners using the provided screw holes, pull the leveling block out and you're all done. The same leveling block can be used for the power supply mount to get it up nice and straight in whatever orientation you want it. A zip tie notch is also provided for the power supply electrical cord to keep it in place.

To attach the Meraki device you simply move the locking levers to their outside position, hold the Meraki device up to the plate so that the "+" latches engage the wall mount holes on the Meraki and move the locking levers to the center position to lock the unit in place. There are holes in the plate for the rubber feet on the Meraki to sit in so you don't even have to take those off to get it done, thus keeping your device in out of box physical condition at the end of the day.
