Zero clearance insert designed for Rikon 10-326, but will fit most bandsaws with a 2.75" diameter insert.
A 3D printing specific design to improve upon the typical flat disc insert:
The 3mf file is specifically designed to print fast and place the material exactly where it is needed for optimal performance and durability.
A deep section with sparse interior for incredible stiffness like a composite panel
Precut slit to simplify cutting the insert to fit
Slight lead-in on the front edge to prevent the workpiece from sticking as its leading edge slides past
No chamfer on the rear edge to avoid the workpiece sticking as its leading edge passes the insert
A single set screw of your choosing can be installed to lock the insert in place (default
Print in PLA+ or more robust material. Avoid PLA and other brittle materials.
The 3mf file details:
Top surface has 5 layers for a 1mm thick, robust surface.
The infill is relatively sparse at 15%, but more than sufficient as the depth of the disc creates stiffness and the thickness of the top provides strength and robustness
Modifiers beef up the section to be cut out for zero clearance to the blade
The set screw hole is dialed in for an M3 setscrew. Extra material around the hole allows you to drill lout the hole to fit whatever set screw you have on hand
