A year ago I got my first 3D printer, and within the first month designed a set of drawers to act as a speaker stand for my work desk's speakers. Those drawers were functional, but kinda ugly, and honestly poorly designed, given that I used SketchUp, and had zero 3D modelling skills. Fast forward a year, my 3D printing has gotten better, and I've slowly but surely been learning Blender, and I thought it was time for an upgrade.
Here are my new desktop drawers / speaker stands. A set of 3 of these, with the top plate, weighs just under 1.2 Kg. I used Bambu PETG HF for strength, though you'd probably be fine with PLA.
The drawer fronts and the top plate I printed using a smooth patterned build plate, but all the other parts I used either textured PEI or the SuperTack cold plate.
Full disclosure, when i first put the printed drawer into the drawer frame, the plastic rubbing was a bit loud. I since increased the tolerance a little bit, and a few minutes with a file into the drawer groove made it open quieter and smoother.
Assembly requires a healthy amount of CA (super)glue, but it's otherwise pretty obvious how the pieces all fit together.
Tolerances are pretty tight, but they worked for me on first print. If anything is too tight, a little bit of filing or sanding on edges should fix it up.
