Description
This is part of other architectural and sculptural elements discovered by the "Antiquities and Fine Arts Commission " in Agrigento in the temples of Heracles and Dioskuroi located in the S-SO margin of the ancient city.The debate on Greek polychrome architecture was rekindled by the fragments of the cornice from the same building (approx 500 BC), combined with this lion's head rain gutters. But especially, by the vividly decorated polychrome fragments of the original cornice from the temple of Dioskouroi closely related to otehr artefacts coming from Selinunte.
