Available sizes Large – 1:35 of the actual size | Normal, Hollow & Pre-supported versions Description Teratophoneus curriei was a tyrannosaurid dinosaur that lived about 77 million years ago during the Late Cretaceous in what is now southern Utah. Slightly smaller than Tyrannosaurus, it measured around six to seven meters long and had a deep, robust skull with powerful jaws filled with serrated teeth for slicing flesh. Fossils found in the Kaiparowits Formation suggest it hunted large herbivorous dinosaurs such as hadrosaurs and ceratopsians. Its name means “monstrous murderer,” reflecting its role as a top predator in its ecosystem. Discoveries of multiple individuals together hint that Teratophoneus may have shown social behavior similar to other tyrannosaurids in western North America.
