The power of dark aether corrupts whatever it comes in contact with. When one is overwhelmed by its intoxicating power, they are forever changed. The transformation is violent and usually leaves no remnants of the original soul behind. Organic and inorganic matter fuse into one horrific being. The body twists and breaks, creating something completely new and terrible. What is most strange, is that dark aether draws upon something within the soul of a being and twists it. While it uses the physical form as a base for the creation, what it becomes is shaped by its ideals, beliefs or other defining characteristics of its personality. Dark aether horrors seem to share traits with minions of The Comet Lord, but much less alien in origin. Praetor Corvinus protected the sacred cycle and Edyn for millennia. Over the ages, he honed his powers to become one of the most powerful beings surrounding Edyn. Though, if were ever outmatched by a group of heroes trying to save their dying world... he would sacrifice everything. Dark Aether Corvinus is the result of him being overwhelmed by the dark aether concentrated in the heart of the moon, Antioch. His duty and the mantle of his long forgotten god had come to define him. The visage of the raven god his family bear with pride fused with his new body. His armour and legendary spear became one with him. His new form, a nightmarish realization that he would become kin to his lost forgotten god. A horror with power honed over a millennia. His mind and soul still intact, but twisted. The cycle ends with him, Edyn would be wiped clean of all sentient life to ensure its safety.
