It is best known for its enormous, elongated frill, which featured large openings, or fenestrae, making it lighter than that of related species. T his frill, along with its long brow horns and shorter nasal horn, was likely used for display, species recognition, and defense. Growing up to about 8 meters long, Torosaurus was a herbivore that fed on low-growing vegetation. It shared its environment with famous dinosaurs like Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus, forming part of a rich prehistoric ecosystem.
