Description

XL and Not So XL Highland Cow (Sitting) Glue is required for the final build, but a dry build is always recommended first to ensure you understand where all the parts go. Some parts will not stay in place without glue. While the XL and Not So XL versions are basically the same model, the connectors have different tolerances tailored for their specific size and are pre-scaled for easy build plate layout. You can scale the model further if you want it larger or smaller. If scaling down, you may need to adjust the connectors down an additional 1-2%. If displaying the model outside, printing in PETG is suggested. For very hot climates, consider using ABS or ASA. The model uses a single connector size. Directional references to left and right are from the perspective of the cow, rather than looking at it. Filaments used in the original build: Bambu basic white, black, brown, beige, and matte bone white. Supports are required for some parts of the model. They are enabled in the 3mf file; setting the top Z distance to 0.275 will allow for easy support removal. Ensure all supports are removed completely from any connector holes. If some connectors feel tight—usually in areas where supports were used—you can scale the connector down by 1-2%. Tolerances can vary based on many factors, including the printer, calibration, and the type of filament used. The provided dimensions target a happy medium that should work well for most printers. Building the Cow Start with the main body and insert a connector into each back leg. Identify the correct left and right back feet, then insert them into each side.Take the two front feet, insert a connector into each, and slide them up into the corresponding left and right slots.Insert two connectors into the neck fur and slide it onto the front of the cow.Insert four connectors into the top of the body.It is best to insert the eyes into the head before placing the head onto the main body. Each eye consists of an outer black part, a white part, the chosen eye color, an inner black part, and the reflection piece. It is usually easier to assemble the eye components separately first, then insert the complete eye assembly into the head.Insert a short connector into the nose, then insert the nose into the front of the face.Slide the head onto the four connectors on top of the main body.Insert a short connector into each ear, then attach them to either side of the head.Attach the two horns. These do not require a connector and can be rotated to your preferred angle. Finally, insert one short connector into the tail and insert it into the back of the cow.Congratulations, you have built the sitting highland cow.
