Description
Saint Ursula, from a now lost altarpiece. 38 cm. Oak with traces of polychromy. Probably of southern Scandinavian origin, around 1500. Ursula was a princess who died as a christian martyre in Cologne in Germany together with 11 000 vigins. The sculpture shows how Ursula gathers people under her robe and gives them protection.
