Discovered in Inner Mongolia, it belonged to the oviraptorosaur group, relatives of smaller beaked dinosaurs. Measuring up to 8 meters (26 feet) in length and weighing over 1.5 tonnes, Gigantoraptor was the largest known oviraptorosaur. It possessed long legs adapted for speed, a toothless beak, and likely bore feathers despite its enormous size. Its diet remains uncertain, but it may have been omnivorous.
