Description
I really like this electronic box. But as I played the airflow in my head I figured there was not enough output holes to let the air out which could stress the fan and break it prematurely. So I added the two vents on the side roughly following the size of the heat sink.
And I wanted to screw it to the body because the box should allow me to drive the car into more precarious situations. If the car roles over I want the cover to stay on and protect the electronics.
The screw holes are designed for m3 allen type 40mm screws. You would use a washer at both ends and put allen head on the inside of the body and the nut on top of the cover. That way there is nothing sticking out on the battery compartment that could potentially puncture a battery. The hole on top is big enough to tighten with a rachet cube.
I also included a couple of screw hole covers that can be printed with the TPU you have left over from printing the other Tarmo parts.
Future work:
I may come back and improve the remix. The cover prints in about 40 grams PLA, but I think that is still overkill. I would like to reduce the wall thickness and have the part printed with just perimeters and no infill.
