Description
I made the railed version first and thought it might be cool to do an Aimpoint T1/2 footprint version (a bit like the real 30mm Aimpoint mounts KAC made) so I designed my own.
Designed to fit on the VFC KAC MP5 rail fitted to a WE MP5, but as long as the distance between rails is 55mm (+/- 0.1mm ish) it should fit. Some slight fitment may be required depending on the printer. (If you check yours and its different let me know and I can make an updated file.)
I have had a previous version of mine sent off to CraftCloud to be printed in aluminium for about £45.
It's also important the rail is actually level so if you have a WE Apache I would recommend printing my other model; VFC MP5 KAC RAS Adaptor for WE Apache. If you have another model of MP5 your mileage may vary. (Doesn't work on the MP5SD as they don't fit the KAC RIS handguard.)
Printing
If you do decide to get it printed in metal I would recommend printing it in plastic first to check clearances on your rail.
To print on a standard printer I would recommend placing it on the bed like this:
I would also suggest using 4-6 walls, other than that it shouldn't really matter. Post-printing you will need to remove a bit of support and may need to take a 5mm drill bit to the screw holes if they're a bit tight but that's it.
Attachment
To attach it to the rail you just need 2x M5x10mm button head screws and optionally 2x M5x10x1mm washers. If the screws are any longer then 10mm and they will go past the rail and scratch the paint on the MP5 and any shorter and you are risking striping the threads on the handguard.
This also will only work if your Aimpoint style optic uses cap head screws, it's not designed for countersunk screws. If yours are capheads just use the standard screws that came with the mount. For mine they are M3x3.5mm.
