Description

This part serves no purpose other than to make my Tronxy XY-2 Pro match the aesthetics of my Creality and like machines.

I like to install similar upgrades on all my “like” machines for uniformity sake.  Since my Tronxy XY-2 Pro is barely recognizable as a Tronxy XY-2 Pro anymore, I decided to replace the last part that make the machine appear different from my Ender 3's and CR-10 clones.

This part prints easily without supports.  I print it with PETG and as with most of my printer upgrades, with 100% infill.  If you're impatient and don't want to print this with 100% infill, I'd recommend, at the very least, to use 1.2mm perimeters with 1.2mm top and bottom.  It should also be fine printed in PLA, so long as you're not printing from a heated chamber or enclosure.

This mounts over the front carrier plate on the left side of the machine using four M3 X 38mm screws.  You'll first want to mount the endstop switch to the underside of this cover with two M3 X 5mm screws.  I used two of the four M3 X 5mm screws that previously held the stepper motor to the front carrier bracket, but had to purchase the M3 X 38mm screws separately.

UPDATE 10092024:  I added two more files.  The file named “X_Axis_Mount_TR_SV06.stl” is identical to the base file, except it has lettering inside identifying to me which of the two direct drive extruder kits work with it.  The file named “X_Axis_Mount_TR_Sprite.stl” differs from the base file not only by being labeled for Sprite but it relocates the mounting point for the X axis end stop switch so the Tronxy XY-2 Pro will work with the Sprite extruder without losing build volume on the X axis.
