Description
This is my attempt at making a water resistant housing for the Eufy Door/Window Sensor, so it can be mounted externally to things like gates and shed doors.
I don't recall the o-ring size required, but you need 2 o-rings per housing - you may choose not to and decide that doesn't help, but in my mind it's helping to seal the screwhole to prevent water ingress.
Other than that, it's just a simple housing, you screw the base plate of each component (magnet & sensor) to the gate/fence post, use the adhesive already attached to the sensor and magnet to stick them onto the base, then slide the body on from above, and slide the door on from the front. It's not the strongest and there's a little bit of wiggling to make it a tight fit, but that was sort of the idea.
Can't say whether this is actually helping all that much, but I've had it mounted for just shy of 3 months now, and I've not had it die on me. If it does give up, I'll update with how long it lasted!
Bit of a rush job as I just wanted to get it mounted, so certainly not the prettiest, but I also didn't round it off as I wanted a quick neat print with minimum waste
You probably don't even need the housing for the magnet, it's literally just a plastic box with a magnet in it, so feel free to skip that, but protecting it will ensure the cap doesn't fall off I guess, and it makes it look a bit more like it's a matching set!
Note: Eufy still maintain that this sensor is not suitable for outdoor use, so you're using this at your own risk, if you break your sensor, that's on you
