Description

Recently, I bought six Westfield ‘Advancer’ camping chairs, along with two leg rests. I am very satisfied. The only downside: I could only equip two of the six chairs with adapters for the leg rests, so I can't easily switch the rests between them.
"No problem," I thought, "I'll just order four more pairs of adapters." Well, I quickly abandoned that idea when I saw how much those small plastic parts were going to cost!!!

So, I simply designed them based on an original adapter and printed the eight adapters.

Unlike what I expected, the original adapter did not have a standard thread. Several design changes were necessary until I found the correct dimensions. Additionally, it took some experimentation until the 3D-printed adapter was finally stable enough.

Two sturdy versions were ultimately created:

  • V4: Adapter plus 3D-printed cylindrical pin (approx. 6.6 x 47 mm)

  • V5: Adapter in which you can insert a 6 x 40 mm metal cylindrical pin. Like this one.
This is the most stable version, which I personally use.

Printing information

All STL files are correctly aligned.

Layer height: 0.15mm
Perimeter: 4 (0.6mm nozzle) or 6 (0.4mm nozzle)
Infill: 100%
Support: yes, for the adapter

Assembly Instructions

Regardless of whether you use a printed pin or a metal pin, insert it fully into the opening from below until it stops.
To prevent it from falling out, secure it with a drop of superglue.

I am looking forward to your Makes! :-)
