A magnetically-locking hip-mounted belt holder for the GBA SP. It uses a single paper clip for the top cover hinge.
Printed at 0.2mm with tree supports. I'm using PETG and a stronger print profile since the built-in clip can snap easily if you're not careful (a problem I might attempt to fix in the future) (also be careful when removing those supports).
Update:
- Added a new version that uses 10x3mm circular magnets instead of the big, powerful rectangular ones.
Notes:
- The belt clip could be usable without the magnetic top, but I personally wouldn't risk it plus magnets are fun.
- The rectangular vs circular magnet parts should be interchangeable, so you can kinda alter the strength of the build if you have any problems with durability.
- Pardon the mediocre printability and reliance on supports for this project, I couldn't think of anything clever to reduce the number of supports that wouldn't also involve additional separated components.
- The rectangular magnets are pretty strong, almost to a fault. If they become a problem for you, let me know and I'll throw together an alternative cover that puts some space between the magnets. (Or potentially another model that uses 10x3mm magnets instead.)
- I'm considering making one of these for the RG35XXSP, but I'm not finding myself using it that often.
Materials:
- PETG/PLA
- 1x Paper Clip (1mm diameter)
- 4x 30x10x3mm Rectangular Magnets OR 4x 10x3mm Circular Magnets
- Superglue
