Activated Carbon Mod for Ikea UPPATVIND Filter

Aire is a refillable activated carbon filter mod designed for the Ikea UPPATVIND filter. Simple to print, easy to install, and has helped to improve my Quality Of Life. 

IMPORTANT

• Please read the instruction guide below.

• I do my best to double-check and test the print profile I create. They are up to date with whatever changes I made to the designs. 

• 3mf for Bambu or Orca Slicer can be found on the Aire Project Page at MakerWorld 

• I have set the grid density to 24%. If you need a denser grid, u can increase the grid density. Do note that it will increase the print time too. 

UPDATE: 9 May 2025

• I have uploaded the Aire Project for OrcaSlicer to make it easier for makers of other printer brands.

• If you have printers with a build plate of 300x300 and above. The frame can be printed as a single piece. Hence, you only need to print build plates 4,5 and 6. (Else print build plates 1 to 5.)

• Added mouse ear brim to improve print quality (as suggested by Modbot) 

INTRODUCTION

The UPPATVIND is a compact air filter that uses an EPA12 filter to remove particulate matter (PM). I think it's the perfect air filter for a small workspace. What is missing is an activated carbon filter to remove any VOCs. Hence, I designed Aire which is a mod that adds an extra filter screen allowing you to refill it with activated carbon pellets.

PRINT INSTRUCTIONS

Download the 3mf file and read the installation guide below. The slicer settings are prepared to produce the grids and hexagon sections. I have tested the prints using both Bambu Lab petg-HF and Voxelpetg+ HS filament. The links to the filament I used are listed below.

• Print Aire Frame I & II

• Print the carbon cassette main and cover. You will need to print 2 sets of carbon cassettes.

• I have prepared the print settings. You will need to click “Slice Now” to reveal the grids and hexagonal sections.
