This is a remix of a design by Mihai Designs. See the original here: https://mihaidesigns.com/pages/fully-3d-printed-filament-dry-box
I've been a big fan of Mihai ever since first seeing his PitStop extruder upgrade. Not too long ago, he came up with a design for a drybox which was so overengineered and beautiful that I had to jump on board. Unfortunately, I didn't have a good place to stack the dryboxes for my MMU unless I wanted to run 4 foot tubes. So instead with some careful modifications, I built a clip system which allow the boxes to be mounted on the lid of my lack enclosure just like before.
Be warned, with five spools in dry boxes, this is a fair amount of weigh to put on the little prop. I am going to look into a design on a reinforcement when I have the time.
The box is modified as follows:
The clips screw into the front face of the lack enclosure lid. Be sure to space them appropriately so that you can fit all the boxes side by side with enough clearance.
The rear retainers screw into the top of the lid towards the middle. Use one of the modified boxes as a spacer.
Running tube all the way to the drybox allow the drybox to work as a pretty passable filament buffer. I have had filament sneak past the roller wheels on occasion, but its rare.
