Description

I'd like to share my deshroud mod for the ASUS GeForce RTX 3070 DUAL graphics card. It holds two 120mm fans (120x120x25) with standard mounting holes.

I printed it with a wall count of 3 and 40% cubic infill. It may not look very stable, but it is! My goal was to maximize airflow and make the model easy to print :)

Assembly

For assembly, you need:

  • 8x M3 bolts (10-20mm)
  • 2x M3 nuts
  • 6x M2 from the original fan assembly (M2, 5mm)
  • (optional but recommended) 6x M2 threaded inserts
  1. Connect the two fan mounting plates together using two M3 bolts and nuts.
  2. Mount the fans to the plates.
  3. (optional) Insert the threaded inserts to the poles on the side with the number on it.
  4. Assemble the 6 GPU mounting poles to the fan assembly.
  5. Mount everything to the GPU. Here you can use the bolts of the original fan assembly.

The mounting poles are numbered, so it's impossible to mix them up after printing:

Assemble the mounting poles so that the numbers match the following picture. Note, number 3 and 4 are not on the circuit board but on the backplate.

Update 10.08.25: Threaded inserts

So after using this deshroud for almost a year now, I noticed that skewing the M2s directly into the poles is not optimal since 2 of the 6 bolts got to lose and fell out of the card. So I added models of the poles with a 3.2mm hole for M2 threaded inserts.
