Description
Filament spool holder is mounted on the top of the Z-axis of the Prusa Mini printer. Holder itself is printed from PLA, all parts around ruller from PET-G.
To ensure better printer stability (when full spool is loaded) use “heel” under Z-axis. I created it as small as possible (just cube to be placed on bottom end of Z-axis ALU profile).
To complete the holder use M6 threaded rod - cca 110 mm length. It's suitable to glue it to plastic part for better strenght.
Roller use two bearings 8/22x7. I used original bearing 608Z from spool roller. Roller is created from two identical parts and should be glued (but works fine without glue, just assembled). Is optimized for “standard” 1kg / 80mm spools (Prusament, Verbatim, ….).
When the filament is placed on the top then PTFE pipe from extruder should be bent upwards. Then is better when filament sensord is mounted and oriented to up. You can use my sensor holder
