Luke Skywalker's V2 Hero Lightsaber - ROTJ

Description

Everyone knows Luke's lightsaber from Return of the Jedi. Disney sells them (I have one). But for those with a keen eye for details will know that the lightsaber Luke uses in most of ROTJ does not match what we get in the stores. While he actually has 6 hilts (I think) in ROTJ, this is the one that you see throughout most of the movie. I hear that this was a repurposed Obi-Wan motorized saber from ANH and the strange switches you see towards the bottom of the hilt were put there to replace the motor controls that were removed (as well as replacing the calculator bubble with the circuit board).

Filament Used:

• ZIRO Silk PLA - Silver
• Elegoo Tough PLA - Black
• Kingroon PLA - Transparent
• Sunlu Silk PLA - Brass

Print Settings:

• 0.16mm layer height
• 3 walls for threaded parts, 2 walls for everything else
• 20% infill for threaded parts, 15% for everything else

Notes:

• Smooth PEI Hot Plate Recommended
• Designed for an AMS
• For the activation plate (transparent PLA), I set the hotend to 230c, 0% fan, 100% infill (aligned rectilinear).  This gave me decent results - if someone has better settings for transparent PLA, please let me know.
• I have included the Bambu A1 print profile

As with most of my models, this one requires no supports or glue…. because I hate both and avoid them at all cost. This was designed for an AMS - specifically for the grenade grip, activation plate, upper neck and emitter. Reference the attached pictures for assembly. Enjoy!
