Carbon Fish Filter for Aqua Culture 5 Gallon Glass Aquarium

I wasn't happy with the filter that came with the Aqua Culture 5 Gallon Glass Aquarium kit. There was little to no carbon, and the instructions said to replace it each month. 

Nahh. 

So I created my own filter basket where I can add my own loose carbon, for cheap, and stick in my own pre-filter that I can wash, reuse, or replace for cheap as well. 

Printing

I printed this in PETG with 100% infill – I do not recommend printing this in PLA.  

Instructions

Rense the carbon before use:

Once you have filled the filter basket with loose carbon, be sure to run it under running water before you put it in the tank!! You don't want carbon dust going everywhere.

Pre-filter media:

I also recommend using filter media, which you can buy a huge roll of online and cut out to use as the pre-filter. Wrap this filter media around the edges of the filter basket, as seen in the pictures. Works like a charm!
