Description
I use the hand soap in my kitchen a lot, and water got trapped underneath it. I didn't like that, so I wanted to—as Cliff says—Fix It! so I made this stand.
the insides are angled so that the water can drip out, and there is a lip that extends below the bottom of the feet, so that it will not slide away from the sink and drip water where it's not supposed to be.
I gave away my test print, this evening, so I can't make a realistic measurement right now. a 70mm x 70mm bottle should fit; my hand soap is a bit smaller than that. I'll update this in a few hours.
this model will print without supports if it prints on its back. in an earlier version, the drainage lip didn't print properly, so I scaled it back from 30° to 35°.
I'm not 100% satisfied with this version, although I like it much better than earlier versions. I also have a bottle of dish soap next to my hand soap, and water's definitely getting trapped under that one too.
so, now that I have a more complete idea of what I wanted, and a prototype I'm using every day, I'm going to work towards redoing this model from scratch. I want to make a more robust, more parametric version of this, so that I can easily include multiple sizes.
so, please look out for a v3, and if you need a particular size, please let me know.
as always, I've included STEP files if anyone wants to make a remix.
