Description
I changed my hotend to a Rapido Ace, which is the shorter HF Version.
So I had to modifiy the mount for it.
I designed shorter version which has to be used with my modified BTT Slim Case
https://www.printables.com/model/1318995-btt-eddy-slim-case-for-chaoticlab-tap-v2
This additional shorter mount can be used with:
File: eddy_mount_HF_ACE.stl
The offset is the same as for the UHF version below.
The print settings are also the same.
Important:
To use the new mount, you have to replace the connector on the Eddy with an “ZH1.5 Vertical 4P”. Soldering Station required. This will void your warranty!
This mount is designed for using the BTT Eddy (USB) on a ChaoticLab TAP V2 with a long hotend like Rapido UHF or similar. (I use it with a XOL Toolhead)
It is optimized to mount the Eddy 2.7mm above the nozzle to get optimal readings.
Also, the distance from the Eddy to the nozzle is reduced to a minimum, but at the same time far enough away from the hotend to avoid interference with the electronics.
File: eddy_mount_UHF.stl
The offset is:
X = 0mm
Y = 36mm
Printsettings:
There is an original mount for the ChaoticLab TAP V2 on the BTT Github, but it clashes with the MGN12 rail of the Voron 2.4. And positions the Eddy about 10mm too high above the print bed.
