Description
Round nut for clamping the reel seat
Nut for clamping the reel seat of a spinning rod or fishing rod.
Designed to replace a cracked or worn reel seat clamp nut.
The nut has longitudinal grooves, the same as the original nut.
The nut thread is cylindrical, single-start, right-hand, rectangular profile, 9 threads per inch.
The nut dimensions correspond to the thread on the handle. If the nut moves too tightly along the handle thread after printing, you need to increase the "X-Y compensation" parameter in the slicer to 0.2 mm, this is usually enough. If the rotation of the nut seems too tight in this case, you can increase the size of the internal holes, but it is recommended to set 0.25 mm at first.
Differences between versions:
1. version v1 - a thicker nut without grooves, more convenient for rotation;
2. version v2 - a thin nut with only with two longitudinal grooves;
3. version v3 - a nut of medium thickness, with two longitudinal grooves, rounded edges;
4. version v4 - a nut of medium thickness, with two longitudinal grooves, a circular groove for the spool holder, rounded outer edges;
5. version v5 - a nut of medium thickness, with two longitudinal grooves, a circular groove for the spool holder, a rounded inner edge of the groove for a better entry of the spool holder ring, rounded outer edges.
To print, the nut model must be placed vertically in the slicer - the central longitudinal axis of the hole is vertical.
Printing with a 0.4mm nozzle, 0.08mm layer (0.08 Extra fine profile in the Creativity Print 5.1 slicer), 3 walls. Filling can be set to 25% -100%. With a small thickness of the round nut, the filling pattern will be solid.
No supports are needed.
Depending on the accuracy of the printer settings, a standard layer of 0.1mm or 0.2mm can be used.
Samples are printed with PETG Bestfilament filament.
To remove a cylinder with a plastic thread from the handle of a spinning rod or fishing rod in order to replace the nut, it is necessary to heat it to about 90 - 100 degrees Celsius. As a rule, with such heating, most adhesives soften, allowing you to remove the cylinder and screw on a new nut.
The degree of heating should be controlled so as not to melt the cylinder with the thread.
Follow the instructions from the rod/spinning rod manufacturer and the description of the rod design, if available.
