Description

This is a spool holder that requires 2 G203RS bearings and a pin head hex bolt (M4-0.7 x 12mm). The threads for the M4 bolt need to be tapped as the hole printed into the shaft is meant as a pilot hole although a threaded insert can be used as well. The outer shell might need some post processing to remove any print imperfections since the two G203RS bearings are press-fit.

Assembly is easy! 

  1. Make sure that the original spool bracket is facing the front (the flush side facing towards you. If not, the 2 bolts attaching the bracket to the top extrusion need to be removed, then turn the bracket, then reattach with the same bolts as they were.
  2. At the back of the bracket, hold the threaded back plate while you thread in the threaded rod from the front till it is tight. Make sure that the threaded rod is tightened well that it doesn't move laterally (from side to side). The step found right after the threading on the threaded rod keys into the big hole in the spool bracket.
  3. Insert the two G203RS bearings in both ends of the outer shell. These need to be press fit by hand until they are flush with the ends of the outer shell.
  1. Insert the outer shell onto the attached threaded rod.
  1. Insert the M4 bolt into the front retaining washer.
  1. Thread in the bolt to lock in the outer shell to the threaded rod. 
  1. Tighten M4 bolt enough that the bearings' travel is sufficient.
