Introduction
The Prusa MK3S+ is a great printer but very slow. That's why I decided to develop an upgrade, something that hasn't been done before. This Upgrade kit allows you to make the Prusa MK4S look slow while maintaining the precision AND getting a good looking print. But it is not necessary to install the whole upgrade, many smaller upgrades are available for the MK3/S/+ in this upgrade. Such as the 90° Deg Heatbed cable cover or the BTT PITFT50 display housing with mount.
Thanks
First of all a big thank you to Caribou3D Caribou (X axis), JLTX Taurus (Y axis), Zen3DLab (Mirrored Einsy Case) and Catloaf (PSU Cover) for all those very well working 3D designs. Also a big thank you to those who are not listed yet (I'll need some more time to list them all).
Warnings
This upgrade is only recommended for experienced users and requires a lot of knowledge. The hardware is fully designed and adapted to the printer. It is important to install the parts properly. The Klipper Calibration is strongly recommended, to achieve almost perfect printing results. (TMC Driver currents, PID tuning, Input Shaper, Temperature Calibration, Max Volumetric Flow rate, Pressure Advance and the VFA Tower)
3D Printed Parts
It's preferred to use some advanced Materials like PC Blend Carbon or ASA Carbon to ensure the stability, longevity and the heat resistance. Also the extruder parts are preferred to print with 4 Perimeters and 20% Gyroid while the other parts should be printed with 40% Gyroid infill. Both should be printed with 6+ Bottom and Top Layers.
Assembly
In order to perform the upgrade properly, it is necessary to remove everything except the aluminum-steel frame. Then follow the original Prusa instructions except for the X and Y axis. For the X axis please follow the Caribou Assembly Manual. The Assembly Manuals except for the Original Prusa MK3S+ are in the Documentations.zip. And always remind the German saying: “Nach fest kommt ab”
Klipper
A Klipper config will be uploaded soon. It is not necessary to change all hardware related values, but you have to change certain things like PID Tuning, Input Shaper etc. yourself. In addition, determined values such as the maximum volumetric flow rate or maximum accelerations must be entered into the slicer, as well as the maximum print height, etc.
